Coco en de schone tanden // Coco and the clean teeth

Het is een bewogen week, vooral voor Coco, die mee moest naar Veravet voor een gebitsreiniging. Het is een schat van een hond, en knuffelig ook nog, maar dat is geen doen met haar bek-geur. Vreemd was dat niet, want ze zat ònder de tandplak. Hele korsten. Zwart. Ik heb er met een bot mesje al wat vanaf gepeuterd, maar de kiezen meer naar achteren kon ik niet bij.

Ik vreesde ernstig voor de toestand van d't gebit, maar het viel alleszins mee! Er zitten keurig witte tanden en kiezen onder de troep! Bij honden gebeurt een gebitsreiniging onder narcose, anders stribbelen ze tegen, zoals ik al merkte.

En: hélemaal fris!

// It was an interesting week, especially for Coco, who needed to come to Veravet for a teeth-cleaning procedure.
She's a lovely dog, and very cuddly too, but that is no fun with her mouth odor. This was no surprise, as she had big crusts of tartar. Black.
I managed to scrape of some with a blunt knife, but I could not reach most of her teeth.

I feared for the condition of her teeth, but it turned out quite well, actually! She has lovely white teeth and molars under the crusts. Tooth cleaning with dogs is done anesthetized, else they wriggle, as I already experienced.

But: all fresh now!
