Irrigation irritation 2

Bigger pump with automatic switch, when water is needed. It's a "booster" pump, for some extra pressure. 25 liter / minute. Still not a great result. You cannot have all taps open. Perhaps it needs a bigger supply hose, as you can see the current one flatten..

There is an irrigation network in our orchard, but someone is eating the tubes.

So this needs some work.

Water!


The reservoir is above terrace level, and when full also above orchard level, so water flows automatically. But, when half full water flow becomes slow. Or nonexistent. We need a small pump.


An old external-disk 12V supply (4A!), and two hoses. A valve in between when the reservoir is full and the pump is not needed.


And see there's water with the furthest away trees.


It's not a complete success, as it does not work with all irrigation strings at the same time. There are 6 strings with 2-5 trees. One at a time works fine. So that's the way it is, or we buy a stronger pump. This one still is usable for a Manneken Pis, or something equally tasteful.

Papaya - spayed

Not Papaya's greatest day: she got spayed today.

We were not looking forward to this. It's an operation, anesthesia, a wound, stitches, pain. We'd prefer her to stay as she is, integral, but we're strongly advised differently. Dogs get a lot older than wolves in nature, and that means their wombs and mammary glands have a high chance to react badly to their own oestrogen hormone at later age. They'll have nasty inflammations or cancer. When spayed the risk is greatly reduced.

If we'd had done this before her first period the chance wold have been negligible, but we were too late.

Well, she spent 10:00-17:00 at the vet's, in a cage. Now she has to take things easy for a few days. No running and/or jumping. Hm.
But she eats well again, pills and all, and she looks happy, and wags her tail again. We think she's well.

Nibble

After shoes someone has nibbled the house a bit. This house has suffered some quite some nibbling in the past, but still.

Good turd

As good parents we keep an eye on our dogs' poo. Zoomba has really lovely turds, usually, but Papaya produces sort of smelly chocolate mousse. We got a big bag of puppy food with her, but we're not going to use that much longer, as another brand gives us this one. Good, huh?

We were told Papaya has a sensitive stomach. That would not fit well with her gluttony, actually.
