(A series of "what do they not have" posts)
Second house, not far from the Moulin du Roy, and to be visited during the same week as the aforementioned house is a "bergerie" in the Montagne Noire in Aude, near Cabrespine. A bergerie is a hut with a stable where they keep sheep. These days there are more sheeple than sheep, so many bergeries are now transformed into houses. As is this one.
It's a vacation rental, but why not live there permanently? Well, one reason could be that there is no electricity connected. There is a big array of solar panels that provide power. How that is done at night I don't know. But I was to find out. It is a nice and big block of land, with a river flowing around it. And, lots of trees. The house itself looks nice, although it will need some work to get some extra floorspace. Perhaps some glass around the back terrace?
The town drinking water is extracted from the river at the very end of this property, so there's enough water here!
Alas, a few days after the message that the Moulin du Roy was sold, this house was sold, too. We canceled our trip, and Ryan Air was €140 richer without even having to offer me coffee.
You can holiday rent the house: http://lecabanial.com
