Pumpkin - Coco

Ons gezinnetje krijgt een uitbreidinkje: Pumpkin.

Onze Pumpkin is een prachtige klassieke podenco. Ongelooflijk hoe zij zich in het asiel heeft ontwikkeld tot een stabiele lieverd. Van haar achtergrond is weinig bekend. Ze zal wel gedumpt zijn omdat ze niet goed jaagde? Ze wandelt inmiddels mooi aan de lijn en is een echte mensenhond. Juist deze hond gunnen wij zo een eigen thuis. Dit meisje heeft lang genoeg in het asiel gezeten en doet zo haar best om bij ons vrijwilligers in de smaak te vallen. Dat doet ze natuurlijk ook maar ze heeft iemand nodig die haar kan adopteren. Pumpkin leeft al jaren met 4 andere honden vreedzaam in de roedel. Maar juist omdat ze zo graag geknuffeld wordt is Pumpkin meer geschikt voor een eigen thuis. Oh ja ze is gevaccineerd, gechipt en gezond! Wie oh wie geeft onze lieverd een kans?!

Our Pumpkin is a beautiful classic podenco. Unbelievable how she developed in the asylum into a stable sweetheart. Little is known of her background. Was she dumped because she did not hunt well? She has been walking beautifully and is a true humans dog. She so deserves her own home. This girl has been in asylum for a long time and is doing her best to be liked by the volunteers. Of course she does, but she needs someone who can adopt her. Pumpkin has been living peacefully in 4 years with four other dogs. But just because she so likes to be cuddled cuddled, Pumpkin is more suitable for a home. Oh yes she is vaccinated, chipped and healthy! Who oh who gives our darling a chance ?!

"Pumpkin was tied to our gate with a white cord around her neck when we found her that morning. We untied the cord and she followed us into the dog pound as if she had been living in the pound her whole life. She was only a bit afraid at the beginning, but after only one day, she liked all dogs and also the people who look after her. Pumpkin is the kind of podenco that could live with any family. She is gentle towards everybody and everything. As she is a podenco, a home with other dogs would be perfect for her." (http://www.apasa.eu/Pumpkin-1)

Als hond mag je het asiel niet uit zonder dat je gesteriliseerd bent geworden. U ziet haar hier achterin de auto op weg naar de vet. Als ik haar was zo ik ook zo kijken. Voor ons voelt het wel een beetje schuldig: omdat wij haar hebben uitgekozen moet zij nu een operatie. Maar, zoals Syl zegt: ze krijgt er een heel nieuw leven mee, dus zij zou er zelf voor kiezen. Waarschijnlijk.

And I do feel a bit guilty: because we chose here she has to have an operation. But, as Syl says: she gets a whole new life, so she'd prefer it. Probably.

20170718: Naar verluidt gaat het goed! De operatiewond is heel klein, 3cm, wie weet hebben ze het met een kijkoperatie gedaan? Dat zou kunnen, maar is duurder vanwege de apparatuur. Wel leuk voor een hond, dan zijn ze in een paar dagen fit.

We kijken erg naar haar uit! Hopelijk komt ze eind deze week, als het herstel goed gaat.

Alleen, hoe gaan we haar noemen? Pumpkin is geen lekkere roepnaam. We hebben al Zoomba en Papaya (Paya), het moet dus iets anders worden dan een "oe" of een "ah" klank. Iets met "ie"? Mimi? Suggesties zijn welkom.

Het is nu: Coco. Als eerbetoon aan Coco Chienel.

We're looking forward to having her here! Hopefully end of the week, provided her recovery goes well.

Just what shall we call her. Pumpkin is not a great calling name.. We already have Zoomba and Papaya (Paya), so best another sound than "oo" or "ah"/ "Ee"? Mimi?
