Wie wel eens bij ons buiten heeft gezeten kent onze bear chairs. Houten stoelen uit Canada, van red cedar. Ondertussen 20 jaar oud. Tijd voor een onderhoudsbeurt, na zo veel jaar in het af-schu-we-lijke Nederlandse klimaat. Eén opvouw bear chair heeft het niet overleefd, en is onder een struik achtergebleven in Amersfoort.

Nieuw cederhout blijft geel, geolied.

De verstelbare bear chair na twee keer oliën. Te veel olie. Dat is dus wachten, schuren en opnieuw proberen. Oud cederhout wordt wel erg donker van oilie, terwijl nieuw ceder lichtgeel blijft (boven).

Stukjes geëloxeerd aluminium worden niet geschuwd daar waar het hout te ver heen is. Best mooi, ingelegd aluminium..

Bijna klaar om geölied te worden met Tung olie.
