Dit is de molen bij Aljariz. Tenminste, wat er van over is. En dat is van dichtbij bepaald niet weinig! Dit type molen heeft een groot waterbassin, waarvan het water over een aquaduct naar een gat gaat, waar een buis naar beneden loopt, en het water naar beneden stort en een (horizontaal) rad aandrijft. Het molengebouw is weinig van over, en daar zal ik een volgende keer eens naartoe klimmen, als ik betere schoenen aan heb. Maar het aquaduct is er nog, en het waterbassin ook. Dat is gebouwd bovenop een aantal terrassen, die allemaal gebouwd zijn met enorme stenen muren. Geweldig!
// This is the mill at Aljariz. What is left of it. And that is not quite little! This type of mill has a water storage basin. The water is channeled by aqueduct to a hole where the water drops down a tube and propels a horizontal wheel. The mill building itself is a ruin, I'll climb down there a next time when I wear more sensible shoes. The aceduct is still there, and so is the water storage. That is built on top of a number of terraces, all built with magnificent stone walls. Wow!
