Hertz RANTal experience

If you travel with dog and bench a rental car is a comfortable option. In Rotterdam we had a Citroën DS3. With ignition "on" the radio was on immediately, and at a HIGH VOLUME. But, modern cars have no separate radio, it's integrated in the computer that is integrated in the car. And no off-switch in sight. Or even a volume control. The big touch screen with a myriad of menus offered no option for radio volume either. All of the dashboard was dull black, and as it was dark already even with the inboard lights we could see nothing more.

After 10 minutes yelling at the car, the radio, our Lord, and Citroën we decided to start the engine anyway. That made a lot more lights come up, and, wow, also volume controls for the radio. 2017 (AD), but user-interfaces are still in the Stone Age in France at Citroën. C*nts.

(If the car has been off and you start it again the radio comes up again, too, though at lower volume. No idea how to switch that off, without digging in that bloody car's bloody computer.)

Sat-nav talks English, but we changed that to NL easily. On our way. Ring road Rotterdam. Dark, rainy, busy. Not great if your outside mirror is so dirty that you can't see a thing when other people's headlights shine into that mirror. Our chauffeur had suffered a lot of stress and irritation by the radio already, and this did not help, as we needed to stop at a gas station to clean the bloody mirror that Hertz had failed to clean for us.

It must be the design of that mirror, as it had the same condition on the way back.

A day home and we already have a mail asking us for our "Hertz rental experience". Well, where to start.
